195/65 R15 Tyre Review Highlights
Writing about the Continental UltraContact
rated 100%
I drove the Ultra Contact for 4 summer seasons as follows:
Season 1 (April 13-November 5, 2022): 17,643 km (10,963 miles)
Season 2 (April 15-November 11, 2023): 12,596 km (7,827 miles)
Season 3 (April 8-November 9, 2024): 8,362 km (5,196 miles)
Season 4 (April 19-November 18, 2025): 11,733 km (7,290 miles)
TOTAL: 50334 km (31276 miles).
I previously had Uniroyal Rainexpert 3 which were great, lasted 38819 km (24121 miles) in 3 seasons.
CONTINENTAL Ultra Contact: This set of mine was Made in Portugal. It's not less quality if it doesn't say Made in Germany. People often confuse Ultra Contact with UC6, UC7 and NXT. The dimension is 195 65 R15 H mounted on a GOLF MK 5, 1.9 TDI, 105 hp, manual transmission, 2004. production.
WET - excellent aquaplaning, short stopping distance, slightly weaker lateral grip in the wet.
DRY - excellent dry handling, braking and cornering.
NOISE - quiet and comfortable to drive.
WEAR - After driving 50,334 km (31,276 miles), of which 12,520 km (7,779 miles) were driven only on the highway at a speed in the range of 140 - 170 kph (87-105 mph), which is almost 25% of the total mileage. After 4 seasons, the smallest profile depth was 3.9 mm. When we consider the fact that the profile depth of the new UltraContact comes with a depth of 7.5 mm, this is an outstanding result when it comes to wear. The road infrastructure in the Western Balkan countries is of much lower quality than in the rest of Europe. In the summer months of June, July and August, air temperatures in the shade often exceed 40°C (104°F). Road surface temperatures often exceed 60°C (140°F).
CONCLUSION:
The Continental UltraContact is built for very high mileage, balanced on both dry and wet surfaces. The only downside is a small defect on wet roads when it comes to lateral grip. In my opinion, this Continental's model is one of the best in the last 10 years. I will definitely buy it again because it is worth every penny.

Writing about the Kumho Ecsta HS52
rated 94%
Coming from Lassa Greenways, this is a definite improvement in all categories, the tyre feels very direct with a nice bite into the corners. It has incredible road feedback giving you a lot of confidence. As for comfort it's not all that noisy, especially compared to the Lassa's, as for comfort they are a bit hard though not annoyingly so.
Some reviews say that they feel a bit of an imbalance when doing 110-130km/h and I can confirm got that as well, though it did clear up as they are driven(broken in).
You do feel the bumps and imperfections in the road a lot(but Bulgarian roads are harsh no matter the tyre really).
First impressions are that this tyre is definitely worth the money, especially for the price point they are at, 50 euro a tyre is incredible.

Been driving them mostly on country roads and highways, for the amount of kilometers I've put in and for the price of the tyres I would definitely not buy them again. Right now they go for about 50-60 euros a tyre which for that amount of money you can get a tyre of a completely different class.
Dry grip was alright, but the comfort was nowhere they were super noise especially at 120km/h+ you would need to scream to hear anyone else.
Wet grip was not there though, at 80km/h a lot of the corners the rear of the car would slip especially after two seasons of use.
Stopping distance for both dry and wet was awful as well.
For the wear, after around 55000km they still had some life in them, but micro cracks started to appear on the inner side near the rim.
Just switched them for Kumho HS52 and so far, the kumhos are a way better tyre compared to the Lassa's while the kumhos are also cheaper by around 2 euros.
If any tyre shop recommends the Lassa's as a "cheap" alternative just run away from there.

Changed from t005a to this tyre. Very comfortable and quiet tires. I just need a nice touring tires in my Corolla. Does the job well. Don't expect it to handle like a UHP tyre.

The tyres are really good. The puncture resistance is great at the end of the tyres life on an average every tyre has nearly 2-3 punctures. I have also used them in multiple rural areas where there is a risk of tyres being damaged but these tyres outperformed. Now, i am using Advan db of the same tyre size and in 6 months i got 6 punctures on 2 tyres. The tread wear is quite good and the tyres did not lose grip even at the end life.

Good budget tire, but very poor wet traction, even with a 90hp car.

Writing about the Continental VikingContact 8

Just a note that this is my initial thoughts, after less than 2.000 km driven in the Nordic countries, in winter, under extreme snow and ice. I have driven multiple vehicles with studded tires, in the arctic circle, under extreme snow and ice conditions. The vikingcontact 8 matches the performance of the studded tires i have used on the past, with superior handling in harsh winter conditions. I used them on a trip in Swedish lapland, in -25C and with severe ice on the road, and could go over 80 km/h with safety. They offer superior handling, makes you feel safe where most tires would struggle. I did the same trip with normal mid-european tires, and the difference in traction and handling is night and day. Great grip, amazing handling, good braking. Overall an amazing winter tire for the nordic area. Not tested in dry, as it's impossible to find a dry road in the arctic circle during winter time. I highly recommend them.

Writing about the Michelin Alpin 7
rated 77%
Used them all over Europe, plus the Nordic region. Very good in dry and wet. Decent grip and handling in little snow and slush conditions. But in the cold winters of Sweden and Norway, where snow and ice is the norm, a nordic winter tyre is highly recommended. So after moving to Scandinavia, i had to replace them with the ContactViking 8, as the Michelin's ice and deep snow grip was non-existent. Overall, a very good tire for south-mid european winters, where rain and cold is the norm. Just avoid them if you are in a Nordic country, as the ice traction and handling is not enough.

Writing about the Laufenn I Fit Plus

The 3 reviews before me helped me choose these tires, which exceeded my expectations. They have an unbeatable price-quality ratio. Quite safe on dry and wet roads. Very good on snow and ice. A little weaker on slush and roads with a lot of water. They evacuate it more difficult. For the first 5000 miles, they convinced me. They are trusted tires.

Great tyre with good grip on compacted snow. Good on wet as well. As I drive electric I appreciate, that Dunlop Winter is very quiet tyre. Great price as well. Set of tyres cost me 250 euros.

Writing about the Kleber Quadraxer 3
rated 92%
I drive this tyre for a year in all conditions. I didn't see any difference between kleber quadraxer 3 and my previous continental summer tyres in wet and dry conditions. I see difference now in ice and snow condition when I compare it with real winter tyre, but I'm very pleased how it performs, lot better than I expected. Yes, winter tyre is better on snow and ice but this cleber tyre is very close, I drive little bit more careful and there is no need to worry.
