Laufenn G Fit 4S

The Laufenn G Fit 4S is an economy touring all-season tyre that stands out for reassuring wet-road grip and a generally easy, predictable feel. Driver feedback is very positive for the money, often highlighting secure handling, comfort and surprisingly capable winter use. Independent testing agrees it can be genuinely strong in wet handling, but also flags a consistent safety caveat: dry braking performance lags rivals.

Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

The Kleber Quadraxer 3, as Michelin's budget sub-brand, proves to be a snow talent and the best second-tier brand from a premium manufacturer in the test. This tyre inherits some of Michelin's winter expertise, delivering strong cold-weather performance at a more accessible price point. However, it's somewhat weaker in dry conditions and suffers from increased rolling resistance, leading to higher fuel consumption.

I drove these tires around 2000 km and they are great. The car is not so powerfull but this tires fits it very well. I am driving maxinum possible fast where ever I can and they didnt slip any where. Very good on wet. Little bit noisy above 100kmh. For that price around 50e they are great. Waiting winter to see snow grip

Initial Impressions Review
Given 84% while driving a Skoda Fabia 1.2 (205/55 R16) on for 1,500 miles
After an accident in my previous car, I picked up a Skoda Fabia as a hack and it needed new tyres on all four corners. The Laufenn was an unknown brand to me but found out they're Hankook related, so took a punt on them in Nov 25. Over winter, they were simply brilliant and I had to deal with six inches of snow, compacted snow and ice on 1:10 inclines in rural Staffordshire. I was literally driving around AWD suvs that were stuck on summer tyres. After 1500 miles on them, they look brand new still and having done motorway, town, country I can safely say they're a good buy. They're comfortable, provide generally good feedback and aren't too loud on the motorway or A roads at speed. Not the sort of tyre to be using to find the limits of any car but for everyday driving and good, predictably safe grip in all conditions, they're absolutely ideal, especially at the price point you'll find them at. Would I buy them again? Yep. Was I happy with the purchase just before winter, you betcha!

Given 92% while driving a Honda Accord (205/55 R16) on mostly town for 500 average miles
Recently bought these as they are made in the Hankook factory in Hungary, with the same rubber mix in them as Hankook tyres. Previously had Hankook Optima 4s and was very happy, so opted for another Hankook brand this time. Have not had a chance to drive in snow, but handle very well in wet and very quiet tyres.

Given 72% while driving a Citroën C4 (205/55 R16) on mostly motorways for 100 average miles
Fitted the tires a few hundred km's ago. Very quiet ride and handles really well. Cornering grip is amazing and the car feels very responsive.
