Yokohama BluEarth GT AE51

Good choice for light passenger vehicles. Grip performance is above average in both dry and wet conditions. If your tyres side profile are 50+, highly recommended to pump up to 35 - 37 PSI, while the manufacturer says 32 - 36 PSI. It provides a very clear and solid traction on both highway and city corners. If it is a front wheel drive, you might need to check the wear around 30000 km, especially the edge toes. However the back wheels are still with 80%+ tread. Hence it is perfect for those light 4 wheel drive although I have not tried on them. These GT tyres are designed for summer touring so they are pretty quiet and comfort, compare to other mid-high range brands. They are good quality in general and drived with confidence.

Much better than the Sumitomo BC100 I had in previously. I immediately notice they were much quieter and noticeably more comfortable than the BC100s I had no real problems in the dry or in the wet. They've performed well in emergency braking situations on my non-ABS car and are not easy to lock up on dry average quality pavement. The loss of grip is progressive and more manageable than the previous tires I had. I've noticed a slight tendency to understeer on very tight corners but that could be suboptimal alignment. In the wet they are more difficult to spin than the Sumitomos and that's a good thing because Greek pavement is not grippy in the rain. As for wear, after about 15000km they had about 5mm tread and that's pretty good considering the fact that I do take my car for spirited drives often. Overall I'd buy again but I'd also like to try the Adan Flevas and see if they're worth the price difference.

I had read the previously good reviews of this tyre and to be fair, the handling and grip in the dry are decent. However, it has a Jekyl and Hyde personality and in the wet the lack of grip is absolutely shocking. It feels more like a low end budget tyre in the wet, scrambling for grip when pulling onto roundabouts and from junctions at at a quite ordinary pace. Cornering in the wet is a nerve shredding experience, again due to the shocking lack of grip. Definitely not a repeat purchase.

Bought these in Aug 2023 it's now April 2026 to fit a mitsubishi asx and they are down to 3mm of tread with cracks along the circumference of each front tyre groove.
I expected them to last longer given I drive approx 6/7k miles each yr so at 19000 now.
Found the cabin noise quite intrusive. Been very noisey of late. It was even picked up by an OAP passenger wearing a hearing aid who could only hear a whirring sound from the tyres and thought it was his aids.
Grip has been OK really wet/dry. Had a near miss with a car that suddenly braked going downhill in the dry and skidded right up to them and this is why I got them checked and they said they are legal but need changing because of the cracks around the grooves.
I live on a hill and my drive is inclined so the slightest snow is troublesome for these tyres...just spin and slide.
I cannot recommend them and would not buy again unfirtunately

These tires are an obvious choice with the stunning new Toyota Prius, which has this exclusive format. They haven't caused any grip problems, they perform well on dry and wet surfaces, at reasonable speeds, they are slightly noisy but above all they are now very worn on the front (both sides). I will have to change them within 1000-2000 miles; while at the rear they still have a good thickness, I think they will still have 8-10,000 miles. I will almost certainly buy them again because there is almost no alternative, but it must be said that they are not too expensive.

After a year of testing, the tires have changed, or perhaps the initial "new tire" effect has worn off. Indeed, at 1 year and 5 minutes of wear on the front tires (it's a rear-wheel drive car), the tires perform quite well in dry conditions, but in the wet, they're awful. They're unstable at 100 km/h in a 110 km/h zone, and they slide a lot. I have Michelin Primacy 4 tires on the rear, also with 5 minutes of wear, but less than a year old, and it's a completely different story. The rear end doesn't budge. I won't buy these tires again; they're too dangerous in the rain. I drive a Mercedes C-Class.

Excellent tyre overall. In the dry it is both comfortable around town and on motorways, yet response and fun on country roads with excellent levels of grip that gives confidence. Weirdest attribute however is that they are good in the wet when it is/has just been raining, but in the when the road is damp/drying the grip suddenly becomes fairly poor. This has caused a few incidents of mild understeer and the wheels to spin up when trying to quickly get out of a junction etc.

Wear has been good, with the front tyres on 5.1mm and 4.9mm of tread after 10000 miles.

Overall I would recommend these tyres, as long as you remember to be a little bit more gentle with your right foot in the damp

Overall an excellent tire. Occasionally stones get stuck in the grooves and it being a softer compound, the groove is damaged a bit. But this is a very miniscule issue.

Respecting the speed limits, it is a great tire on the dry, grips well on the wet. They are placed at the rear, they replaced the Goodyear efficientgrip performance 2. It is day and night, the rear follows much better in changes of direction. I will surely buy the same ones at the front.

This is the best touring tires I have had! It grips well on the dry & wet. Aquaplaning is acceptable IMO. It's treadwear is simply long lasting and even though I'm already over 55K KM, the noise level is still very acceptable!

I have done 12K miles on these tyres. Comfortable ride, good grip in the dry, but very poor in the wet. They give good feedback in the dry, but nothing in the wet. Same when it comes to handling. The tyres are like chalk and cheese. They have replaced a set of Pirelli's which I got 49K miles from. The Pirelli's weren't great in the wet either, but these are way worse. I would not buy these tyres again.

Four Tyres fitted to a mini cooper s to replace Goodyear eagle 3. Really disappointed. Not that great in the dry, and terrible in the wet. Just flashing traction control lights. After just 2 years and 6000 miles all four Tyres were advisory on the MOT with cracking down all the treads. Now replaced.

Replaced Avon ZV7s on the front basically as the equivalent Yoko's were £25 a corner cheaper and the same wet A-grading as the predecessors.

bought a Camry with Dunlop SP Lm sport, 215/55/17 , the handling of car was super scary, braking was bad, cabin noise at back made me think my wheel bearings are worn out, i checked them and bearings were fine , then i replaced the front ones with Yokohama GT, the braking, handling, cabin noise and smoothness significantly improved, i never thought tyre brand and model can make a huge difference in the car’s performance, so i purchased another 2 for back, the only negative side of Yokohama Bluearth GT is the treads wearing out faster than usual. Definitely buy it again.
