Below are the 205/55 R16 results from the European ADAC tyre test.

As usual with ADAC tests, the results are based on pure data with no subjective scoring included. The tests are weighted in favour of wet performance, which is awarded 40% of the overall score. 20% of the overall result is given to the dry weather tests, 10% of the weighting is based on how noisy / comfortable the tyres are, a further 10% is based on the rolling resistance of the tyre and 20% of the overall result is based on the wear. Please note this can affect our totalling, so it's best to study the individual category scores to help you chose a tyre based on performance qualities you find important.

Is there an explanation anywhere of how your ratings in each category work? Are the ratings linear? IE, will a tyre with a wear of 4 wear out twice as fast as a tyre with a wear of 8?

These scores were directly converted from the original article where sadly there is no indication of a scale. Your assumption is a sound one though.

Nice to see Optigrip doing well. Apart from mine, I haven't seen these on any other cars!

It is strange Michelin weren't in this test. They were in the 165/70 R14 test with the Michelin Energy Saver (and finished second). That's due to go live tomorrow so we'll link it then!
