Not every driver has the same priorities. Adjust the category weightings above to re-rank the tyres based on what matters most to your driving style.
Scores are colour-coded from red (weakest) through yellow to green (strongest) to help you quickly spot each tyre's strengths and weaknesses.
The original test ranking is shown in the # column. Arrows indicate how each tyre moves when your custom weighting is applied.
Hi I have a 1966 Healey 3000, 15" wires 5.5" wide.
I'm not bothered for period correct tyres, especially as they are 3x the price of modern tyres that will fit my wheels.
I want to fit 195/65R15's - and am considering Bridgestone T005's, but have read a few reviews suggesting the sidewalls are soft.
As my tyre profile is quite large, will these be appropriate, and if not, what could you suggest.
MPG/Wear/noise/snow is not important,
Grip and braking are priority.
Costs similar to the T005's would be preferable.
Thank you for your advice and fab website.
All modern tyres in that size are going to have soft sidewalls, it's just the way the industry has gone. The T005 aren't the softest.
Thank yo for your reply, I think I will give them a go. Unless you can suggest anything better?
The Nokian wetpro maybe?
Also, will picking a fast speed rating help with a stiffer sidewall, and what about the XL rating?
How critical is all this? Am I just over thinking it? Will I even notice?
http://www.tyrereviews.co.u... are worth a look if you want a stiffer sidewall
...why are there 2 missing labels?! The first missing one is the Conti PC 6. Interesting to see if S1 Evo 3 is so good in other sizes!!...
Looks like an issue with the charting scripting, I'll work on it
Why Firemax FM601 is not in this list? this is not the same test? https://www.tyrepress.com/2...
Tank you!
I don't have it added on the site yet to include in the test result
Hi again! My many thanks about your reviews and site collaboration! Its essencial for some of us. Iam very curious about Firemax because they have a good distribution and very low prices in Portugal. Of course i dont expect a classe A tyre...but very curious to know they performance in a larger test. Many Thanks!
Very surprised by the Uniroyal Rainsport 3 wet result !
I have 2 rainsport3 and dont understand very well this results vs individual results they have
I am also surprised between the test result and the individual reviews by users which indicate that this tyre is an excellent wet tyre, but some lesser known makes performed better in the test ! Is there a placebo situation here where because it's called Rainsport users assume they are getting an excellent wet weather tyre ? I would love to know ?
The Rainsport 3 is an old tyre now, it's natural it slips down the order compared to the newest and best. User reviews can still be valid, it might just be their older reviews, or the user hasn't had the chance to drive the latest and greatest. The Rainsport 3 isn't a bad tyre, it's just not as great as the latest generation.
Thanks for the prompt reply. Now I understand. Cheers for explaining. Any news of a Rainsport 4 ? p.s. Loving your website...........so useful.
No news of the Rainsport 4, and FWIW they will 100% skip 4 and go straight to RainSport 5 :) News on the site as soon as I hear anything!
Cheers !
Ohoh, nice top place for the new F1 Asy5. Any other review incoming in the next few weeks?
I'm testing it at the end of March, and it was in the Gute Fahrt test finishing second to the CPC6, this will be on the site tomorrow :)
You already know that you are awesome he ;-) (sorry I really love your website and i`m a big fan of it) regs from Switzerland
The Pzero PZ4 doesn't exist with this dimension. It's again the old Pzero who's tested here ;)
I'm getting fed up of Pirelli ;)
Is this an updated pattern design of the original P Zero?
https://www.autobild.de/bil...
Someone is lying here... the pattern on your link is indeed the new saloon version of the pz4. But available on 18" minimum. If you continue with the link available beneath the picture, the old pzero appears ;)
Or maybe an update is lacking somewhere?
The one in linked picture is the Pirelli Cinturato P7
https://www.pirelli.com/tyr...
I've spoken with Pirelli and it was IP 1744100 used in Auto Bild, which is the original P Zero. Must be the wrong picture, which is weird.
So it's a new "new P Zero"? Like a PZ5?
That's literally the opposite of what I said lol, it's the original P Zero tested.
Yes, but given the results, it should be an update or a refresh, it wouldn't have been ranked so high otherwise.
Pirelli in Geneva just launched P Zero Winter...
The tyre pictured is the one Auto Bild tested, lets see what happens in a few days when the full result is due out!
I'll also contact Pirelli after the full test is published.
That's not the new PZ4 but the Cinturato P7. Don't know if it's the blue or not, but on that pic it looks quite black...
However the text next to it says 94 Y in which spec neither is available, just the old P Zero. And the P Zero Nero GT, but if the results are correct it's not likely to be that.
In whichever case the results are pretty impressive considering that all of them are pretty old designs, let's see if it'll remain like that in the full test. :)
I'm enjoying the Pirelli tyre detective posts, thanks guys :)
https://www.pirelli.com/tyr...
I checked this link yesterday and I'm fairly sure I didn't see the 17" version, perhaps it's been updated?
Wow.
It's good to have that on the wordwide site, but where do they sell that actually? Because neither the UK nor the Italian product page list that, and I couldn't find any resellers who sell it. Yet.
