Can I mix a Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus with existing Michelin Pilot Alpin on a Audi A6 Allroad, or a pair of AS and a pair of Alpin?

It would not be advisable to mix the two tyre types due to the differing levels of warm wet grip offered by the tyres.

Given 80% while driving a Mercedes Benz W124 Estate (225/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 15,000 easy going miles
Wonderful wear and grip and all year round use. Coped with snow pretty well too, not as good as a full winter tyre though as these are all season.

I had been running Yokohama Advan ES 100 which came with the car when I purchased it 3 years ago. I live in Vancouver and wanted a tire that could handle occasional wet snow (yet to happen) so I opted for the Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus. Great improvement over the Yokohamas - QUIET, comfortable, and sure footed. They are "softer" in their feel and may have a less stiff sidewall but handling is first class. I was a bit trouble by the high cost but now that the deal is done am happy with the purchase.
