Given global warming, should we choose the hankook ion flexclimate or the hankook ion i* cept? <br><br> I live in Switzerland and I am regularly at an altitude of 1000m. But in recent years we have had little snow. <br><br> Thanks for your feedback <br><br> Greetings

Interesting question. I often recommend to regions that don't see much snow over the winter that a good all season tyre is a better winter tyre than a good winter tyre, however your local weather pattern might indicate something a bit stronger in winter for those emergency situations.

Previous tires were Pilot Sport 4

Tire is confidence inspiring. Grip is good and predictable. Noise level is lower than average, rid comfort is good. Can't say anything yet about wear.

They are quieter than the Pilot Sport. Comfort is better. Grip is slightly worse in the dry.

Very good overall tire so far. Can recommend it.

Given 56% while driving a Volkswagen ID 3/Born v3 77kwh (215/45 R20) on a combination of roads for 500 easy going miles
Fitted these on a Cupra born v3 77kw with 20" wheels to replace the Bridgstone Turenza 6 Enticity and they absolutely destroyed the range of the car. With temperatures above 5degree Celsius. My normal 3.0+ mi/kwh dropped to 2.2 /2.3/2.4. As soon as i replaced them with a Hankook Ventus Prime 4 the efficiency returned to normal. Avoid if youre needing EV range and cant home charge every evening.

Given 88% while driving a Volvo S60 Polestar (245/45 R19) on a combination of roads for 1,000 average miles
Surprisingly good snow and ice grip and low road noise. Hard to notice much difference from true winter tyres but have not used them in heavy snow yet so cant say for sure. In icy conditions with 5-10 cm of snow they performed very good. Also very good afterwards in the slushy thaw conditions. Have only used them for around 1500 km so cant say anything about wear.
Handling and dry grip marginally worse than default summer tyres but good winter abilities well worth the trade off with this all weather tyre from Hankook.
Unless you live in very cold climate with several weeks of ice and snow in the winter Hankook Ion Flexclimate will be a very good all year choice.

Given 99% while driving a BMW X1 X Drive (245/45 R19) on a combination of roads for 6,000 spirited miles
The grip and braking distance are excellent on both dry and wet surfaces. I can't comment on snowy and icy conditions as I haven't used them there. The quietness is better than any tire I've ever used. I can also say they're excellent in terms of comfort and appearance. I've been driving for 36 years and I change my winter/summer tires every year. This time I took off my summer tires for the last time and from now on I will always use Ion Flexclimate. It's a perfect choice for both summer and winter.

This is a very good tyre. Before this, I had a Michelin Crossclimate 2 - and that was also a good tyre. Now, I think and feel, Hankook is better. I know, the Crossclimate 3 is out now, but I could not buy that, when I bought the Hankook. My Long Range Tesla is a rear wheel drive, more than 300LE, and it is amazing, how balanced this tyre. In Dry and Wet environment, the Flexclimate feels like one of the best of any tyre I tried. Had to tell, I could not try in Ice and Snow yet, but I am looking forward to check that.

Given 83% while driving a Tesla Model Y Long Range (255/45 R19) on a combination of roads for 4,500 spirited miles
Had these fitted to a Model Y about 4 months ago, just as good in the summer if not better than the Hankook Ventura S1 Evo that came on the car. With the recent snow/ice we have had they have been impeccable, while others skidded into kerbs and were unable to climb steep slopes or pull out of junctions we managed to go round them no problem. Fresh snow, no problem. Icy car parks where it’s almost impossible to walk on, no problem. More importantly they managed to stop the car like it was dry.
Well done Hankook, they do what they say they will.
The only problem is being stuck behind everyone else with their part worn slicks.

Replaces my Vredestein Quatrac Pro tyres on my electric car.
Pro:
> The Hankooks have significantly more grip. Since installing them, I have never seen the traction control light on my dash pop up. Gives a lot of confidence driving in the worst of weathers, including snow.
>Significantly quiter. I tested with my iphone a drop of about 3-4db in the cabin on the same stretch of road compared to the vredestein.
Con:
>Range is 5-6%lower than what I was getting on the Vredestein.
