Continental SportContact 7 vs Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6
The data shows the SportContact 7 dominating dry performance (clean sweep in dry braking and handling) and taking a narrow edge in wet braking. The Asymmetric 6 counters with superior curved aquaplaning, lower noise in nearly every test, and better wear/value in the large ADAC study. If you prize outright pace and shortest braking, Continental is the benchmark; if you prioritize refinement, economy and wet safety margins in standing water, Goodyear stands out.

Real World Driver Reviews
Continental SportContact 7 Driver Reviews
Across 91 reviews, the Continental SportContact 7 is widely praised as an exceptionally high-grip UUHP summer tyre, with standout wet performance that many drivers say feels nearly as secure as the dry, plus strong braking and confidence-inspiring handling. Many also note good feedback and stability (including in cooler temperatures for a summer tyre), and several consider it a top choice for fast road use and occasional track work. The main recurring drawback is rapid tread wear/short lifespan (especially under spirited driving or track use), with a secondary theme of higher road noise and a firmer, harsher ride on some cars.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 Driver Reviews
Across reviews, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is most often described as an exceptionally confident UHP tyre with very strong dry and especially wet grip, high braking performance, and predictable/progressive handling near the limit. Many drivers also report a noticeably more comfortable ride and lower noise than the tyres they replaced, making it feel unusually "daily-friendly" for this category. The most repeated downsides are quicker-than-expected wear for some users and pronounced rumble/roar on rough asphalt, with a smaller but recurring theme of softer sidewalls or slightly duller turn-in compared with sharper rivals.

I have now had the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5's, Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersports, Michelin PS4 and even some Avon's (for a brief period) on my current car - a Golf GTI Clubsport 40.
I mix up my driving a lot - lots of motorway driving but also lots of hard street driving and B road blasts, I find it massively important to have the best tyres possible to allow me to push my car as hard as I can in a safe manner.
I was massively impressed with the Asymmetric 5's, the sheer grip... Continue reading this review using the link below
Conclusion
Goodyear's Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is the more rounded daily performer: it's typically quieter, offers lower rolling resistance, frequently resists aquaplaning better (notably curved), and in ADAC posted longer projected mileage with stronger value. It runs the leaders very close on pace and can out-handle in certain wet/dry subjective measures, but usually gives up a small margin in pure braking. Choose Continental for maximum grip and shortest stops; choose Goodyear for balanced real-world use, refinement, and cost-efficiency. The practical takeaway: SC7 for drivers who push on and prioritize performance margins, A6 for those seeking a quieter, thriftier, wet-weather-confident all-rounder.
Key Differences
- Dry performance: Continental sweeps dry braking/handling; Goodyear typically trails by small margins
- Wet braking: Continental edges Goodyear in most tests; Goodyear occasionally matches or nicks it
- Aquaplaning: Goodyear often leads curved aquaplaning; straight-line is usually a wash
- Noise/refinement: Goodyear is quieter in the majority of results
- Efficiency and wear: Goodyear shows lower rolling resistance and longer projected mileage (ADAC)
- Price/value: Goodyear often cheaper and rated better for value; Continental commands a performance premium

Footnote
This page has been developed using tyre industry testing best practices. This means we are only comparing tests which have had both tyres in the same test.
Why is this important? Tyre testing is heavily affected by things like surface grip levels and surface temperature, which means you can only compare values from the same day. During a tyre test external condition changes are calculated into the overall results, but it is not possible to calculate this between tyre tests performed on different days or at different locations.
As a result you will see other tests on Tyre Reviews which feature both the %s and %s, but as they weren't conducted on the same day, the results are not comparable.
Lots of other websites do this sort of tyre comparison, Tyre Reviews doesn't.
