As you're probably aware, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 launched in Europe this month, and is a big improvement over the outgoing Michelin CrossClimate+ (you can see our review of the Michelin CrossClimate 2 vs CrossClimate+ here!)
The most common question we've had since the tyre launched has been "Is the CrossClimate 2 available in my size?"
To answer this, here's a list of all sizes the Michelin CrossClimate 2 is available in Europe. There's a few more sizes due later this year, and a further expansion in 2022, however this is a really impressive launch list.
For some low volume sizes, the CrossClimate+ will remain the available size.

Are there any limitations or restrictions on the CC2 with an EV due to the added weight of an EV? Any plans from Michelin to release an EV specific CC2?
As long as you can buy the correct load rating, no issues. I've not heard about any EV specific version planned.
Are 14 inch sizes likely to be available in 2022? I have 175/65 R14s which are available in the CC+ but not CC2 at the moment.
I'm afraid this is all the information I have, however if the CC+ is made in your size it's likely it will move across to the 2 at some point :)
@@TyreReviews:disqus Cross Climate 2 are available in 235/55 R19 and would fit my car. They are a Volvo OE tyre but i have a Lexus. Is it ok to fit to a different manufacturer OE tyre? I watched your video on fitting OE tyres and it seems its tread and compound that may be different.
It could be different, but assuming similar vehicle types it shouldn't be a huge issue. It's unlikely Volvo will have made as many modifications to the tyre as in that video.
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm thinking of going for it instead of the Cross Climate SUV as the reviews of the 2 speak for themselves.
Great channel, now i've discovered it i'm looking to swap out all my cars rubber for TyreReviews recommended!
? whatever you end up doing please let me know how you get on!
There is only one (!) tyre available as runflat (ZP in Michelin jargon). Any inside info, if they are going to add more options in the future? I am specifically interested in 205-60-16.
That would have to be a question for Michelin, I've not heard anything about runflat versions! If it was made in the CC+ it's likely to be upgraded, unless it was a low selling size.
Hi,
Do you know if this tire( Crossclimate 2) in size 225 45 r17 94V XL has rim protection (FP= Fringe Protector)?
thanks a lot for answer!
I don't sorry, I'd suggest emailing Michelin :)
I have searched for this info everywhere and never found a Cross Climate (2) with rim protection or thick sidewalls. I don't think they exists. In my opinion, tires should not only perform well, but need to be looking good on the rim as well. I don't like those balloonish looking sidewalls. I only buy tires with rim protection. It also protects the rim what I see as a bonus.
Rim protection is more a UHP tire thing, and thick sidewalls are disappearing to improve rolling resistance sadly
Thanks for this - My Touran takes 215/45 R17 so my only option is the Y rated version of this size - Sounds expensive (currently just under 20% more expensive than the CC+ in "W" speed rating flavour), so glad I won't need them until autumn next year at my current wear rate - perhaps a "W" or even "V" speed rating version will then be released - Either way the stock levels dealers will have by then should mean some deals are available I would have thought.
One question - What does the "TL" in the above sizes stand for?
TL = Tubeless
That makes more sense than my answer (or at least it did in 1955 ?)
I've used CCSuv on my Jeep for two sets and love them but found them lacking in sidewall tread. CC2 seems a bit better on this and I've been eagerly awaiting them as mine are down to about 3.5mm now. But no joy in the 235/65/17 size. As you say, seems like CC2 SUV must be coming as so many suv sizes are missing.
You've definitely got more experience than me (and I know that ultimately it's just a guess) so what would your best guess be as to when they might release a larger range of sizes. This year? And when they are 'announced', how long does it usually take for them to be available to buy? Cheers!
Sidewall tread? You mean for offroading?
This list should be available now. I believe there's one size due in November, and more due next year but I don't have anything official, so it's sit and wait I'm afraid. As always, I'll update the site as soon as I hear anything!
Hello and thank you for the huge amount of info, I haven't managed to get a single piece of info from Michelin themselves. Do you happen to know anything about the 225/55R19 size? My Mazda CX-5 was really excited about these tires...but it seems like I'll have to look into some other tire, maybe the new Pirelli. Can't wait for your 2021 all season tire test!
At a total guess, I'd say that will come in another phase of releases as that seems like a tyre for a CC2 SUV (If that's going to be a thing)
Thank you for the response! Yes...I wouldn't count on it. Hopefully your future review will give me an alternative. Keep up the good work!
