Pirelli Scorpion AS+ 3

I replaced the garbage tires fitted to the car from the factory. My past experience with Scorpions on other cars had me give these a try. So far, they seem very good in the rain, the handling seems good, braking is excellent. I bought these for their good reviews for snow driving, but I have no snow experience with them, and now, with a relocation to the desert out west, likely never will. I didn't give the tire a high "would buy again" rating because my requirements for tire performance are changing.

This is my first non-oem tire on this vehicle. And what an improvement! Comfort and noise levels are both better compared with the original tires. Wet performance is excellent even in cooler temps. Last summer I had to make a full panic stop on a curve at the interstate with two deer blocking the road. The car was loaded with travel gear and it was a cool summer night. Stopped with 20 feet to spare and barely had to engage ABS. Still in my lane. You will sacrifice some dry cornering grip compared with performance rubber but boy are the wet grip and comfort worth it for day-to-day. And the crossover to winter tires is that much less stressful as I've seen these Pirellis perform well in near freezing temps.

The truth is if you are looking for tires with the best quality/price ratio these are the best you can find, the only detail against it is that at a certain speed range it has a slight vibration in the steering wheel which is a manufacturing defect, it is not that they are poorly balanced it is a factory defect, I would buy them again because I am already going to have 30,000 kms and they still hold up for another 70,000 kms, they have good grip and the comfort of the tire makes the car's suspension feel better, in the rain they are a wonder almost at the level of Michelin, recommended for work, on the other hand off-road because it has an optimal tread.

Absolutely atrocious quality. The tires are vibrating despite being balanced ,including the Road Force balance, three times. The tires are only a year and a half old and Pirelli is refusing to let the dealer honor its warranty. The traction even in dry weather is terrible. My underpowered Suv somehow manages to spend the tires even on dry days. The quiet ride had disappeared past approximately 6,000 miles. Pirelli want the tires taken off the car and sent to Pirelli for inspection for 2 or 3 months. Absolutely disgusted with Pirelli, but what do you expect from the company that's partially owned by the Chinese? Wish I had purchased something else.

Quiet tyre, good dry and very good wet handling even in deep water.
Road impacts are transmitted harshly, maybe because it's XL rated, it was the only option available in 235/55R18 size.
My mistake, I won't buy XL again for my Subaru Forester.

Comfortable, quiet, plenty of grip.

These are some of the smoothest riding tires I've had. With that said I wouldn't buy them again and I'm sorry I bought them in the 1st place. The compound is too soft. With the tires inflated properly when I run over a small pothole it feels like I went through a hole one foot deep. It also feels like the tires compress all the way to my rim practically. They don't feel stable as far as how easy it is to stay in your lane with ease. You have to adjust your steering a bit more than other tires I've had. That may be because of what I call the soft compound. Also, I've never seen a tire that fluctuates in tire pressure so much so quickly. As soon as I pull out of my driveway the tires all change from 35 to 39 within seconds. they never end up the same while on the road. I know I can put Nitrogen in them to help with that but my point is that these change so much while driving you never end up with all four feeling the same. Today will be different than tomorrow and so on. I've been driving for 48 years and I've owned dozens of cars and trucks. I've also sold vehicles for a living. In my opinion these tires aren't appropriate for a standard 1500 series pickup truck. I read that these are approved for regular pickup trucks but I disagree. They are very smooth though and they grip the road just fine.

This is my 4th set of Pirelli Scorpion tires on 2 different vehicles. 3 sets were the Verde version and this last one is the a/s 3. The Scorpion versions were wonderful tires and thus the reason for buying Pirelli’s again. After a little over 5000 miles two of the four tires developed bubbles in the sidewalls. There was no wheel damage nor was there any visible damage to the inside of the tire. Pirelli would not replace the tires, stating that we had hit either a pothole or curb. I could agree with them if there was visible wheel or tire damage, but there was none. Their response seemed automatic…a bubble can only be caused by hitting something. Both my wife and I are careful to avoid bouncing off curbs, and we don’t have potholes in our area of TN. Very disappointed with Pirelli and will consider this incident when buying tires in the future.

Purchased a set of four of these tires to replace OEM tires (which were poor-performing even in light snow and had 2/3 their tread left) on my AWD mid-size SUV. Couldn’t be more pleased with these tires. Their performance, comfort and quality have proven to be second-to-none. I drive A LOT (60k+ miles per year mix city/highway/cross-country driving) and in a variety of weather types and these tires have never disappointed me…whether it driving through the heavy thunderstorms of the Midwest or the snowy mountain roads of the Rockies and PWN, these tires have outperformed themselves and have exceeded my expectations by far. Gravel roads, sandy beaches and light muddy dirt roads were nothing for these tires to get through comfortably. I rotate them every 3,000-5,000 miles and they’ve worn evenly across the board. I’ve got about 65,000 miles on this set and they’ve grown a tad bit louder as the tires are now nearing their wear indicators, but that’s to be expected and is barely noticeable. Even as I’m nearing the wear indicators, the tires do great in heavy rain and snow (just took them through 11 inches of snow up Mt Hood in Oregon last weekend with zero concerns). I love them so much I just ordered my second set. Give them a go…I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with their performance.

I bought these in conjunction with smaller 18 inch wheels for my Tesla model y in order to improve the comfort of the ride. They were actually less comfortable than the OEM 19 inch Continentals and there was annoying vibration at highway speeds, particularly through the steering wheel. Rebalancing and adjusting the air pressure did not help. I ultimately swapped them for Michelin pilot sport All season 4S
