Goodyear has unveiled its first tyre designed specifically for electric vehicles (EVs). The Goodyear ElectricDrive GT has been designed to be both an ultra-high performance and an all-season tyre. It’s said to offer long-lasting tread wear and a low noise level, which should give a ride that’s as quiet as an electric car’s motors
To achieve that, the new tyre includes the American brand’s SoundComfort Technology, essentially sound insulation within the walls. That equates to a 50% reduction in tyre noise, Goodyear says.
The ElectricDrive GT has an asymmetric tread pattern and a tread compound aimed at providing enough traction in most weather conditions. With EVs tending to be heavy and powerful, this should give drivers confidence in the rubber beneath them.
For now, the Goodyear ElectricDrive GT is only available in one size: 255/45 R19 104W XL. Many Tesla cars wear this size, as do some other high-performance EVs. More sizes will launch throughout 2022.
It’s no surprise that Goodyear wants a slice of the EV tyre market. Michelin launched its Pilot Sport EV tyre in 2021, which is the OE tyre for Teslas in certain markets.

By the way, just a suggestion for tyre reviews / catalog on page. Could you consider adding some facts like launch year, predecessor / successor models to tyres' pages? I know it might be a hassle to add for all existing models, but maybe moving forward? :)
We already do provide details of previous and next tyres in the family line, if I'm missing something please let me know! I'm also building up year added to the site, which should give a reasonable idea of when the tyre was launched if it was a premium. Sadly when adding random budget tyres it's a bit of a minefield
Yes, I noticed it's there (previous / next) for some already I loved it, hence the idea to have it as a standard / template. I'm a 'table' kind of guy, so seek for 'anchored' info - same place on each tyre page etc. and not as part of the paragraph ;)
So, even if something is not clear, not available etc., I prefer to see 'n/a' rather than nothing (no such rubric). Just a veeeery generic idea / suggestion.
Weirdly though I can't locate my reviews of 2 tyre models from spring. Need to re-post them soon.
